There's Been Activity in the Silence

We got a nice update from Nastya this morning:

"Hello Joy, We are feeling better, we have had a terrible flu. It took a long time to gather all extra papers judges were asking for before we could submit the petition to court again. We tried to find an attorney that could convince the head judge to give us a good judge. Inspector has been helping us very much too. She was very nice and supportive throughout the whole process. When we couldn't find a person that could influence the judge, Alexey talked to him personally and he said he won't appoint any judge in particular but whoever is free. We pulled our strings again and talked to the judge that we would like to have. She personally will try to influence the head judge and have the case appointed to her. The case is in court right now and we are waiting on their decision regarding new judge,. We should have it by next week."

Thanks so much for the sweet comments and all of the prayers for Steven and for us.

One of my Bibles is a parallel NIV/Message. I like the reliability of the NIV and the freshness of The Message so I enjoy reading from this Bible. As many of you know I have asked for prayers that God would give us wisdom in a decision where either choice seems 'good' but only one can be 'best' so Psalm 119:29-32 in The Message got my attention:

"Barricade the road that goes Nowhere; grace me with your clear revelation. I choose the true road to Somewhere, I post your road signs at every curve and corner. I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me; God, don't let me down! I'll run the course you lay out for me if you'll just show me how."

I really like that last verse in the NIV, too: "I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free."

Please keep praying!

Keep hanging in, Joy. This sounds like progress. Oh, I hope they settle it all soon so you can head back over.

Praying for things to speed up for you guys. I know this has been dragging on for what seams like forever, but keep your eyes on God, He will bring him home!!!

Hi Joy,
I think you confused me with Alysha. I wish I was the one who had left the encouraging comments, but I was too busy complaining about my back problem. I have been praying for you, though. Steven is one of those special ones who grabbed my heart at first sight. I also understand the long wait! We commited to Andreas last April. We are still waiting on documents to file our I-800, so we have no court date in sight, either. I am praying for a good judge who will do what is best for Steven!
